My roommate wants to file a petition against our LL for overcharging, but I'm worried (I'm the only one on the lease, but roommate's checks were sent directly to LL). Will doing so make it hard for us to get leases from different LLs in the future? Our credit records are OK but not perfect (all rent always paid on time, though)--should I worry about another black mark? I assume LL reference for next lease will be shot.
