: I have a rent stabilized apartment which my daughter would like to take over once she graduates from college in 1 year. I would like to move out now and in order to qualify for a mid income housing, reported my daughter living with me. My sister-in-law would like to move into the apartment and I'm wondering if I could get her in as my daughter's roommate (even though she is away to college). If we have to go the assignment route, should we take the risk and let her move in before the 30 day period is over?

Here we go again.....everybody thinks subsidized housing is a god given right to be passed on while the rest of us have to suffer with market rates!

The rules are simple she has to live with you for 2 years...so whats the problem? Oh the timing is wrong, I want 2 subsidized apartments for my family....greedy aren't YOU!
