I live in a two-family home in Brooklyn. I currently am a month-to-month tenant with a crazy landlady. I have two questions:
1. I have a sneaking feeling that my landlady is coming in to my apartment when I'm not home. can I change the locks on the door and not give her a key?
2. she has twice stated to me that she doesn't think I vaccum the carpet. she claims she hasn't heard my vaccum in two months. at what point does statements like these become harassment? and what is considered "normal wear and tear" in terms of getting back my security deposit?
