Two months after renewing our lease for a year we need to terminate for a job placement to another state. Our lease states a 30 day written notice is needed with last months rent and one penatly month is do. But the problem is we are being told that because the word " Alabama" is written across the agreement we have to forfiet our deposit. The signed lease doesn't state so. Is this true? Can I demand them to show us in writing this verbal demand that we have to forfiet?
