well you're a late payer and you want sympathy.....

If the LL gives it to you you'd better beg and thank him,

and maybe give him a nice present on his birthday or anniversary..

If you want to still live in that apartment

: : : I sent half of my rent by certified mail to landlord on the 1st with letter stating an emergency arrised and I can not pay rent in full this month the other half will be paid on the 15th. Am I in the right for doing so? Can landlord take any actions against me for my actions? Please advise.

: : Your lease probably says that the full monthly rent is due on the first of the month. So technically, failure to pay the whole amount is a lease default. But, the landlord would be crazy to make an issue out of it, especially if you usually pay your rent on time.

: Actually I have no lease and have been late before (last month and at other times).Does that make a difference?
