holdover question

Posted by nina on September 07, 1999 at 00:00:22:

A lady I know has been living with her two grandchildren in a rented house. The lease that she signed actually states that the lease was for
two years. When she first signed the lease she informed the owners of the house that she wished to stay there for at least five years. She cannot
read English and assumed that the lease was for five years. The owners of the house want her to move out by Christmas. She wishes to stay until
the end of the school year. She has always paid the rent on time and maintains the house properly. Can she stay on the premisis without fear of
eviction proceedings. Does she have any right to stay on the property?
