Here's a fuller version of the NYLJ item about the application for reappointment by Housing Court Judge Ava Alterman:

HOUSING COURT Judge Ava Alterman, whose term expires on Feb. 22, 2000, is applying for reappointment. The Advisory Council of the Civil Court's Housing Part is seeking comments to assist in their evaluation of her reapppointment.

Comments should be sent by Oct. 29 to Chairman David Gallo c/o the Civil Court's Administrative Office, 12th floor, 111 Centre Street, New York, N.Y. 10013.
