Still looking for Ans.

Posted by Joanna on September 22, 1999 at 08:36:27:

I am in a rent stabilized apt, in Queens, bld.has
6 apartments one side 6 on the other. I need to
know if he sells the bld..does the new landlord
have the right to ask the back rent.Or do I start
off new with him. I stupidly did not put the
rent away, as I thought the court would agree
with me. When they saw,bath-room floor falling in
to the basement, tiles off the wall.stopped up
tub, and sink,pipes falling apart,no oven,no
cabinets in kitchen after kitchen wall fell
down, the city put the wall back, they also]
put in new toilet, old one just cracked apart
because the floor keeps on cracking from the
bulge under the floor.Substandard wiring, have
had elect.turned off.for a week because of
arcing from wall plug.Plus he has looked in
my windows, went thru my garbage, listens at
my door or goesto the basement and listens.
Tells neighbors that I am a pros,and a junkie
because I work at night. I made a bad mistake
by not putting this money away and am now in
a great deal of debt.What-ever advise you give
me would be greatly appreciated. I have no
other place to go to. I have children and dogs
and cats.He has been a living night-mare, He
had me arrested 7 years ago,Told the police
I attacked him, after enduring 3 days in the
queens jail, I was allowed to leave and had to
go to court for seven months, until finally
the D.A. dropped the charges. He has been
spending time in N.Y. as he has another bld.
there. So I avoid him like the plague, Don't
you think if he would in the right he would
have taken me to court before this? I have not
paid him for seven years. I can't believe I
am in such a mess. Help!I know that I am wrong
in how I handled this. Can I possibly make this
right?
