Ask the neighebors or ask the landlord for anyone that would give him a
good reference. I was going to rent a coop, and they had great references,
and in all sincerity, they said at the end of the lease they normally
only at the most raise it 4% if even that. That was another part of the
city though then Manhattan where I now live.
: I am about to sign a lease for an apt in a coop building. It's not rent stabilized and the owners (a management company that owns 80% of the units in the bldg) will only give me a one year lease.
: I am concerned that the rent will be jacked up next year. I'm also concerned about my rights as a renter in general. Where can I find specific info on coop renting?
