If its not alot of money I would just write it off. If its the principle of the
thing well take him to small claims court its free.Theres a good book
published by Nolo press on how to prepare for small claims court. But, I read
a discussion here on the board a tenant took the landord to small claims

court , and the landlord counterclaimed and won thousands of dollars over
the tenant. If I was owed one thousand dollars in back rent by the landlord
I would just write it off, its not worth the hassle
