The owner's managing agent for a NYC sponsor-owned coop unit charged a "brokers fee" of a one months rent for a sublet lease. Is this considered key money? Can you cite the statute or reg that says this isn't kosher? If this wasn't legal ...What is the statute of limitations and best place to bring my claim?
