The new landlord has to continue with the original painting cycle. Change of ownership doesn't make any difference. You are long overdue for a paint job. Demand it now.


: My apartment has not been painted in well over 10 years. A year and a half ago the brownstone I live in was sold and there was a new LL. Now, I have lived in this same apartment for approx. 4 1/2 years- 3 years with previous LL and 1 1/2 year with present LL. Now, does the 3 year painting rule still apply even thought there was a change of ownership, does the new owner take on the responsibility of the property as is OR do we have to wait 3 years with the present LL for new paint job?

: Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
