Public Housing Spotlight
on NYCHA

Issue) between myself and 3 representatives of the IG/DOI.

Before the meeting, I called Tony. He was excited that the meeting might have a good ending. We talked about his concerns for a bit, and then I asked him for a favor. I asked if he's come into the restaurant about 30 minutes after our meeting began. I explained that I'd see how things were going with the IG himself (Pasichow). If he seemed unbelieving of what I was telling him, I'd call Tony over from the bar to verify the questionable items. Tony quickly agreed.

As the meeting was winding down, I began looking for Tony so that I could have his support on some of the items we had discussed. I couldn't see him at the bar. So, I told Steve gruberger and Jack Kilpatrick that I was going to look for Tony. They said nothing.

I went all around the bar area, and then I went outside to look for his car. No dice!

I went back and apologized to those at the table. We broke up and everyone left.

At home, I received a call from Tony. He started by saying "I'm really sorry Jack. But they threatened me. They told me that if I showed up at the bar, I'd wind up back in jail! I couldn't chance it Jack."

That was the last conversation I ever had with Tony. As far as I'm concerned, he's nothing but a user. He will pledge loyalty to whomever he thinks can help him most at the moment. Good and decent people had risked their careers and taken physical risks to help in this investigation, and they knew that trusting Tony was a prerequisite to participation. If Tony became untrustworthy, bad things could happen.

Now, at Tony's request, I had come back to battle with the idiotic Keystone Kops. And Tony had wimped out! As far as I was concerned, Tony was no longer my concern. He was still screwing friends. First he screwed friends and relatives from the dirty crew, now he was screwing with those who tried to help him. If, as I'm told, the IG has Tony holed up with his daughter in Arizona, I hope he stays there!

Tony was a member of a group of
corrupt Contract Inspectors working at NYCHA.
Neither Tony nor the person he confessed to
sharing his bribes with (Richard Penesi)
were ever charged, let alone prosecuted, by DOI.
