I lived here in my RS apt for over 10 years. I used to let exterminator in for mice and other vermin, but fumes bothered me for days, and I stop letting him in. I switched to holistic repellents. Then exterminator stop coming around. Recently, a mice exterminator rings bell, No notice from LL of any problem in bldg. Never heard neighbors complain. Since he come around again, am I required to let him spray? Thanks.
Generally tenants are required to give access to LL and repair people - but only with advance written notice. If they just knock without notice, then I would not allow entry.
Now consider that yhou don't have a problem with mice. That's OK and you can ask the LL to not send the exterminator. Chances are he's in the building anyway. But consider that there might be a mice problem in other apartments.Even if you don't see the mice, it might be a good idea for building-wide rodent control.
If you have alternatives, them maybe they will be willing to skip you apartment . The point is to not let this rise to a degree of a standoff. Keep it low-level.
