living in a commercially zoned space

Postby halfiejules » Tue Sep 03, 2002 9:22 pm

I just signed a lease on a space in East Williamsburg (I'll be moving in next week) that's zoned for commercial, not residential use. I've had several discussions with the current tenant about the space, and he pretty much has no complaints. There's heat, hot water, garbage pick-up, a super who fixes things when you call him. I'm wondering if there are any nasty surprises that I should be expecting? I mean I know that technically the city could come along and kick everyone out if they found out that people are living in the building, but optimistically assuming that won't happen, what else should I be worried about?
