I live below an extremely loud family with kids that bangs around constantly. I''ve asked them politely to keep it down, yelled at them to keep it down, called the quality of life hotline and the police a few times to get them to keep it down. While these have worked in spurts, the extremely loud and perhaps ADD-addled kids are still waking me up practically every morning. I (and other tenants) have complained about them to the landlady but while she curses them out and calls them occasionally to tell them to shut up, (and has supposedly threatened to evict them), nothing's happened.
Is there anything else I can do? I love my apartment, but I'm completely furious, exhausted and frustrated, and am embarrassed to say that I've taken to ringing their doorbell in retaliation (which pisses the hell out of them
). I don't think my landlady is gonna follow up on this. Do I have any legal recourse? Can I withold rent? PLEASE HELP.
