Ya think the LL will give me trouble?

After 12 years in the same rent stabilized apartment, I've bought a condo up the street.
Got 4 months left on the lease.
Ya think the LL is really going to hold me to it, or will they be happy to see me go so they can renovate and jack up the rent.
Curious if anyone else has had experience in this.
This is the only variable I am unsure of in this whole homebuying process.

I think that really depends on your landlord and the relationship you have with him. I would think that the very worst he would do to you is not return your security deposit while laughing all the way to the bank. Think about how to approach him about it.

See if maybe you can sublet it (legally) for the duration of the lease or assign the remainder of the lease. Look into these options and offer them as alternatives and I am sure he will choose to just let you out of the lease early.
