how do I find the lease?

Postby spacelamb3 » Wed Jun 18, 2003 4:33 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty sure that the person who sublet to me overcharged me for rent--is there any way for me to find out how much she pays without going through her or the landlord? (i.e. public records).

If anyone has done this before or is aware of the process please let me know; thanks very much in advance.

If the apt is rent stabilized, then LL is required to file with DHCR the legal rent for unit. If apt is free market, then there's no public record of how much the rent is.
