Strike issues

Postby Titian » Mon Apr 14, 2003 9:04 am

Hi -- A further question to my previous post in the Non-Reg Apartments category regarding move-ins/move-outs during the anticipated walkout by the doorman union:

I have now received notice that the building I'm moving INTO will also not allow me to move if there is a strike (this is in addition to the building I'm moving out of saying I can't move out). I could have just ignored the current building's rule (I think) because I don't see how they prohibit me from moving out. If I can't move into the new place, though, that's another story. Now the question is -- can my current building make me pay rent if I'm stuck there??

thanks

I guess just stay until you are able to move.

I doubt they will bother pursuing you over a couple of days when there are extenuating circumstances like this. Plus -- They are prohibiting it.

sit tight and I hope you are not too inconvenienced. The strike will hopefully be averted.
most Landlords suck it.
