Small Claims Court

Postby barney_southin » Mon Mar 17, 2003 4:33 pm

Having failed to get my landlord to return my security deposit or provide me with a list of damages, I've reluctantly decided to sue him in the Small Claims Court. Does anyone have any experience of doing this and if so, any good advice to offer?

There's plenty of advice in the archives here about how to go about it. Did you take pictures of the emptied apt. before you left and did you have the landlord walk through the place with you? (Some people videotape this as well, just for their records.)

If you have dated pictures and you have sent certified letters to the landlord asking for your deposit back and it's been 30 days later with no response, then go file, taking a copy of the pictures and your receipts and letters with you.
