Dear Friends;

The Housing Forum in the Bronx will be on Jan. 14th. We hope to have a good
attendance and the purpose of the Forum is to educate the tenants in the
Bronx about the political reasons for the rent increases and the lack of
oversight by DHCR and HPD of their problems with their landlords. The
elected officials need to be made aware of the fact that people can no
longer take the unaffordable rents in this city and we hope that this Forum
will aid our fight to get the State legislature to repeal the Urstadt Law
and to reconsider the changes made to the Rent Regulations law passed in
Albany last summer.
We hope those of you who are not in the Bronx can all send representatives
to this meeting. We will be handing out flyers in January in the Bronx and
anyone who wants to help can e-mail me.
Thanks,
Jeanie
