electrical problems need help

Postby John24 » Fri Nov 21, 2003 12:49 am

me and my roommate both got these mini personal heaters since it's been so cold lately, but this old ass apartment...i guess the wiring is so old that when we both have our heaters on, it causes an overload and all the power goes out and we have to reset the switcher. we both work on our computers so not only do those have to be on, but so do the heaters and lights...we've tried having just those bare minimums turned on and still it causes an overload.

i can think of two solutions for this.

i can buy a long extension cord and use an outlet that isn't part of the affected area

or

i can politely ask my landlord to hire electricians to come fix this.

the latter option will be more convenient for both of us, but what i want to know is whether this is the landlords problem or the tenants. we have radiators in our apartment but they are controlled by my landlord who lives downstairs and he hardly turns it on.

thanks.
