After 2.5 years of accepting payment via Credit Card, my LL has suddenly announced that the Permant Residents of this notorious Bowery "Men's Flophouse"-cum-"Hostel" can only pay with Cash or Check.
The "Guests" ("Hostelers") who are paying $37/night and up, are allowed to pay for 2 or more nights with a Credit Card, but the permanents are not?
Is this legal?
Could it be a violation of their Merchant Account agreement?
How can I discreetly find out who their Merchant Account provider is, to ask?
Any other thoughts?
