Need immediate Responses!

My girlfriend is being sued by her landlord for not paying last month rent, paying for lock smith to get in apt, cleaning and repairing apt...totalling $1800. He is subtracting security deposit and interests of 600 for a total suit of $1200+.

Well, she never recieved the security desposit and he said there was no interests. The apt had only 6yrs of normall wear. She left some garbage in bags by the back door becuase he was a freak about overflowing garbage and would remove anything that would over flow and he personal info has been spread in the alley. She gave him the apt keys by sliding them underhis busiess door jsut as she always did the rent with a letter that stated she moved.

We are new at this and she didnt expect this would go this far. She didnt try to collect the security deposit thinking he could keep it as last months rent and any minor damges. Well, she gets this court thing in the mail and now what are we to do? We were to told to file a countersuit for deposit with interests, stress she recieved becuase she is pregnant, lost of wages for leaving work early and for taking off on a few occastions for this, invasion of privacy, and cort costs.

What do you think? Is this a good idea? will she loose this in a case like this? Any help will be greatly aprreciated. Sorry for such a long thread.
