Landlord Inspection

Postby KY_Hall » Tue Jun 10, 2003 7:26 pm

I have a beautiful well kept apartment and the landlord is fighting the lease renewal. He just called and demanded to be let in for an "Inspection". My lease says he can come in for repairs, but there are no repairs to be made. I am frightened to have him come in. He once threatened me physically. Do I have to let him in?

Landlords are entitled by law to inspect their apartments, as long as reasonable notice is given. You are also entitled to have a person present with you to serve as a witness.
