Village Voice seeks tenants' stories

Postby TenantNet » Wed Feb 02, 2011 5:07 pm

Village Voice reporter Elizabeth Dwoskin is looking for stories from the perspective of tenants, in particular relationships between neighbors which at times can be acrimonious.

Normally her focus is on landlords, but for this upcoming piece she wants to look at "New Yorkers and their crazy, noisy and obnoxious neighbors."

How do you deal with the next-door neighbor who decides to crank up the stereo at 3 AM? What happens if you complain to the landlord? Does the landlord suddenly take the crazy neighbor's side and accuse you of something? This forum is replete with such examples.

All responses will be anonymous if desired. Make sure to tell her it's "not for attribution" unless you don't mind her using your name. The name of your landlord and your address should also be "off the record." If you're not careful, some crazy litigious landlord might accuse you of libel or defamation.

As is our policy we have not passed on any users' names or contact information to the press.

But you can contact her at:
