Hi everyone,
I don't have heat for 1 month.I called the super and also landlord to let them know that whole building have no heat for 1 month.
I called them even when it started but nothing have been changed.
I called 311 to complaint, still nothing have been changed.
I have one small electric heater and I have been using it which does not help much just made my electric bill went up...
And now no hot water for 3 days.
I have a child here and he gets dirty all the time.
He needs to take shower so as everyone in this building.
What can I do?

You called 311, so you should have a tracking number. Did the inspector come? Have you written the landlord by certified mail?

See the thread on heat/hot water in the reference section of the forum.

Is your apartment rent stabilized? Do you have a tenant association in your building? Is the LL trying to clear the building of long-time tenants?

I ask because some times you have to play hardball with your landlord, such as withholding rent. But you could be taken to court. The bad conditions would be your defense but you should really get a sense on how to handle things.

You can also file a HP Action in court against the landlord, but that might take some time.

No matter what, you should send a certified notice to the LL immediately.

Thank you very much for the reply.
I moved in here almost 2 years ago. When I moved here it was not rent stabilized any longer. My neighbors are rent stabilized.
We only have 6 tenants and the downstairs there's 2 stores.
One is the restaurant and the other is the grocery store.
