Roommate Situation

Postby nydr » Fri Mar 02, 2012 9:39 pm

I am one tenant, of a total of five - each occupying a separate bedroom with shared kitchen, living room and restroom, in a family home in Queens. Off late, one roommate has been smoking marijuana inside the house, making the house uncomfortable to live in from the odor. Is there any law or solution that I can resource to help deal with this problem? Communicating with the landlord and or roommate is not bringing any resolve to the situation. Thanks in advance.

Hi All
Have you suggested a window exhaust fan in the room where smoking is done?

This is a non-smoking house, and the one roommate is breaking the rule. There is no written lease between the landlord and the tenants.

Hi All
If it's the LL's policy re: no smoking then it would be the LL's call. See if you can get the LL in to smell for themselves.
