Hey all,
I currently live in Brooklyn. I like my apartment, but the floors are quite crooked and sunken. I do computer work and find it annoying sitting on a noticeable incline from side-to-side (and it is curved such that it always seems slanted). I am planning on moving, and would like some tips on finding apartments with flat floors.
I realize that there's no substitute for going to a place and checking it out, but are there general tendencies that can help narrow down the sorts of places I go to look at? What sorts of buildings tend to have flat floors? Newer or older? Taller or shorters? I was planning on trying to find an apartment in an elevator building. Among other things, I would hope it would be flatter than walk-up buildings (since presumably the elevator shaft has to remain straight).
I would appreciate any other advice anyone can provide.
