Help re: income verification for subtenant. Legal sublease

Postby NYC_lifer » Sat Jul 14, 2012 12:11 pm

I short term subletting my apt and prospective subtenant has provided a W2 that showed 150k in income last year. This exceeded the 40 x rent requirement. But her letter of employment indicates a salary of far less - it does not meet the 40 x rent requirement that the LL asked me to find in a subtenant. She owns a home so there's that as an asset, & mentioned something about a settlement she rcvd accounting for the rest of what I saw on w2. Is this enough? Am I being dense and too literal by going by the letter of employment. I've also got a tax return as well FYI.

Experienced folks, plz help!
