Michigan laws

Postby golightlyny » Wed Sep 15, 2004 5:33 pm

Hi,

My niece in Michigan is having problems. She and her brother moved from their place and notified the LL. The LL changed things to her name on the 20th of the last month. Now LL is suing for something like $35,000. My niece and nephew are now in small claims court with a claim against the LL. Are there any tenants organizations in Michigan (I tried google; not too good.)
I'd appreciate any help I could forward to her.

Thanks.

Not knowing any of the details...but if LL is trying to sue for $35,000...would strongly recommend that your niece go see a tenant atty asap. The $100 or so spent on a consultation could save them a lot of money in the end.
