A landlord may raise the rent of a month-to-month tenant with the consent of the tenant. However, if the tenant does not consent, the landlord can terminate the tenancy by giving notice as required.

Hmm, i wonder if this is the case in PA?

8/31 received a notice that the rent was being raised beginning 10/1/07 (notice received 9/2)

gave a verbal and a written notice given to landlord on 9/24/07 that we do not agree to the terms of the new lease and that we would be moving out 10/31/07. (required 1 months notice given) and that our final Octber rent payment would be paid under the terms of the original lease since we didn't agree to the new lease.

LL deducted difference between new rent and original rent from my SD
