Building Security - Doors/locks (HELP!)

Postby caroltouri » Wed Jan 26, 2005 4:57 pm

I just had a shoot out in my bldg last night and still the landlord will not put a lock on the door. There's a cheap metallic door with no lock or handle. Its broken. There is constant traffic from folks that don't live in bldg. The only protection we have is my psychotic 100lb pit/lab dog. Any suggestions?

There is a lot of issues with security going on here. talk to your local building inspector(s) to see if they will issue a violation for the door.
Keep in mind this will not cure the security issues of the building (as tenants will often buzz in anyone...or might be breaking the lock themselves).
Might want to get a local politician involved to talk with LL about securing the safety of all tenants.
If you could would seriously look for a new place.
