Setting Standard Time Zone

Postby TenantNet » Fri Nov 12, 2010 10:13 am

To our users... Unfortunately the forum software does not automatically detect changeovers between Standard Time and Daylight Savings Time.

The time display for posts depends on each users' settings. As we just changed back to Standard Time, here's a quick way to set things right.

On the top of the page click "My Profile" and scroll down to wher it says "Timezone."

If you are in the USA Eastern Time Zone and for Standard Time make sure the entry reads "GMT - 5 hours." Next Spring for Daylight Savings Time you can change it back to "GMT - 4 hours."

If you are in a different time zone, you can experiment until the time of the posts appear correctly. The program should display when the post occurred in your own local time zone. That means if post in NYC happened at 9 AM local NYC time (Eastern Standard), that should appear as happening at 6 AM California time (Pacific Standard) for a user in Los Angeles.
