my day in housing court.

well, because of advice i got on these very boards,i went and appeared at housing court. (even though my landlord and his attorney both separately called me and said that the issue was discontinued amd I could ignore the postcard I got in the mail from NY Housing Court that confirmed my court date.)

well. when i got to 111 centre street, i was on on the list for the day and am glad I showed. At the last minute, a guy who works for the attorney came in and filed a discontinuance and I got a copy. I know that they would have just let it default if they knew I wasnt going to go.

It's true--dont ignore summons or court dates no matter what the people who are suing you say.
I mean--there suing you. It took a day for that to sink into my thick skull. d'oh!
