No renewal lease but I must pay MCI increase?

Postby newattitude148 » Sat Sep 06, 2014 11:51 am

My current lease is going to expire soon. The 90-150 day window to send a renewal lease is almost up. I know that I am still protected as an RS tenant even without a lease so that isn't my question ( I may still send in the form complaint of owner's refusal to renew lease). I just got a letter from DHCR approving a contested MCI increase. Do I still have to pay the MCI increase even if the owner doesn't send me a renewal lease? Thanks.
