Big rent increase in rent stabilized buildings?

Postby Caywi » Sun Mar 31, 2019 6:46 am

Hi,

I'm renting an apartment in a rent stabilized building and I'm currently paying $1,172.49. I got my renewal lease form and according to it my rent has increased to be $1,300.00 ($127.15 more per month!). I called the landlord and they confirmed this increase .... is this legal???

I would appreciate very much any response!

Thanks very much in advance.
Caywi

We were going to reply to this post, but we discovered your name, username and IP address are all on Spam lists.

While this post seems OK, what spammers often do these days is put up something innocuous at first, and then come back later and edit it with improper links.

More than that, this post is, word for word, a duplicate of a 2005 post at http://wirednewyork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6484

We check all users and posts for spam. Very little gets through, so the quality of the forum is maintained.
