if you signed your first lease 25 yrs. ago,and every 2 years you sign a new lease is your first lease always in effect?

to answer you (me again) i wanted to know is your prest lease the one that is in effect and is all the old lease null and void....

yeah what is the context?

In terms of rent stabilized apartments I believe that all subsequent renewal leases should be on the same terms as the original vacancy lease that the stabilized tenant was offered.

However, if you sign a lease without reading it and something changed from the original, I think the new one might take, unless of course it is an illegal clause.
