So far, my research hasn't indicated if there is a relationship between a building having open HPD violations and getting DOB permits rejected, but I wanted to pose the question.
Here's the situation. I've had open HPD violations for a few years and a new set of violations issued in May for my RC apartment. In August, the LL applied for a DOB permit to divide a vacant RC apartment into 2 new apartments, the permit was rejected in September. Now last week out of the blue the managing agent calls to schedule a visit to inspect the open violations and "work with us to resolve the problems", this is after ignoring several letters by myself and my attorney over the past year.
I just find it to be more than coincedence that they seem to be interested in fixing violations after having a DOB permit rejected and an empty apartment waiting to be divided.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
