The record becomes permanent record as it's entered into the court computer system for life.

How do you know that?

I went to the housing court and used its publicly available system and was able to pull up records back from at least 1990's associated with my landlord. When I clicked on a case, it showed whether the case is holdover or non-payment.

But you don't know if your record is on the blacklist forever. That's what it sounded like you meant. A record should be on the blacklist (credit reporting agencies) only if the tenant loses. If it gets on the list accidentally, it can be removed. See information on the Blacklist in the Reference section.

From the blacklist perspective, I may be able to share soon info soon as I am doing a test on myself. I requested a free report from a tenant screening company (they are generating it and i haven't received yet). This appears not to be a credit report, but the report about whether the tenant has been to housing court.

Yes please keep us posted. My main concern now also is that it might impact future apt rentals. If this can be removed with a stipulation or just by requesting it (if case was dismissed by judge) that would obviously be great news!

If it ever comes up, the attorney who has carved out a niche handling blacklist matters is James Fishman (one of our advertisers).
