Uncashed rent checks

i have a very disagreeable scum lord in harlem. I have given the reality company urban reality 2checks for the months of nov and dec. I received an eviction notice stating i had not paid the bill (this included late charges i had never agreed to). The money remains in my account untouched even now. i made several attempts to contact the reality office. Noone answers the phone i left messages and was never called back! i finally got through to the office wench sarita and she claimed both checks bounced--which is impossiable- i even called my bank and no attempts had been made to cash the checks at all. i asked to speak to my land lord directly and was refused. i asked for his direct address and was refused. What do i do now? My land lord is pretty bad with heat hot watter as well as repairs.
