Front door lock broken

Postby daniellehoelter » Fri Sep 13, 2002 2:27 am

A few weeks ago, the box which holds the key to our front door for the mailperson was broken into and the key was stolen. We notified our LL who said he would change the locks and provide everyone with a new key. He has not done so.

Just yesterday we noticed that the front door is so damaged that you no longer even need a key to open it. Just pushing on the door opens it.

Obviously our LL is in violation of the law. The trouble is, he never provided us with a copy of our lease and i'm not really sure which steps to take now. since we don't have a lease, i'm not even sure where to send a certified letter to. we pay our rent at the business on the first floor (which he is somehow related to)

any ideas?

Call the housing department and get the building inspected.

All these things are violations.
most Landlords suck it.
