I live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment on the top floor that has been leaking from the roof during heavey rainstorms. the landlord put in a quick fix and now it only leaks in one bedroom. He has decided not to renew our lease saying he wants to fix the roof properly and needs tthe apartment vacant to do that. We paid a $4800 broker fee and thought we could stay as long as we paid the rent. Can he do this. Where can we find our rights? Is it worth is to fight him? We can't really afford to move and pay another broker fee.
The apartment is not rent controlled or stabilized.
