I have no lease ( I live in Brooklyn )

Postby Soulmate » Fri Sep 12, 2008 6:44 pm

Hello. I live in a private house ( 2nd. floor ) with no lease. It's been a few years like this. The bills are on my name. Is it legal not to give me lease, is there a law that protects me? My right are violated. What can I do?
Thank you.

You're a month-to-month tenant and there's no law that says the LL must give you a lease. Your rights are not violated.
