Landlord claims improper repairs

Postby dn1964 » Wed Oct 06, 2010 10:55 pm

Our ex-landlord of a 2-family house is claiming we improperly repaired something (we are not aware of what kind of repair is in question nor there was anything wrong with the apartment during our tenancy).

Something happened in the apartment a month after we moved out. The apartment was vacant. Can she legally charge us with damages that occurred a month after we vacated?

Thank you for your reply

It is not when the repair took place, but rather when the damage took place.

If she can prove it was damage during your tenancy and your fault, then yes. But from what you say there was no damage while you were there. It would be helpful to know what sort of damage you are talking about.
