How to find FDNY violations by address?

Postby SecondMeansOfEgress » Tue Sep 06, 2022 12:55 am

I can access DOB and HPD violations by address but I can only seem to access FDNY violations by entering the violation number, which requires knowledge that the violation exists in the first place! Do I really need to file a FOIL to find out if my building or the adjacent building has open fire safety violations?
Thank you!

You can file a FOIL with FDNY. I did that last week and they say they won't comply until January of next year. It's illegal but they do it anyway. A politician might be able to speed it up.

Ask your lawyer friend how to get FDNY documents. you might need to subpoena them. It's complicated.

OK, that's all for tonight.
