Oral agreement with landlord for lower rent

Postby Alex » Mon May 02, 2005 11:31 am

My mother made an agreement with the landlord's broker to pay a preferential rent. The landlord after evicting another tenant in my building and after I took that tenant into my apartment claimed that I had not paid the total rent for each month and that I owe the balance. What do I do? Can the Lanlord do this?

Do either you or your Mother have a lease?
