Who is responsible? Landlord or Co-op Mgmt?

Postby UESgirl » Mon Feb 14, 2005 12:19 am

I live in an apartment that I rent from the owner who is part of a co-op. I recently had a radiator leak that was so bad that my hardwood floors are buckling. The co-op management company has taken responsibility for fixing the radiator and the damage resulting from its leak. Half of the floor in my very small studio must be ripped out and replaced. When I asked the management company how they would compensate me for the days I will not be able to live in my apartment while the floors are being redone, they refused to undertake the cost and told me that it was my landlord's responsibility. Who exactly is responsible?
