stopping chemical leak from neighbor in loft

Postby harpgrrl » Fri Mar 19, 2004 2:25 pm

Hi!

The business below me have contaminated the entire loft building with carbon black-a cancer causing agent.

The business denies that the black cloud of smoke is coming from their business, but I sent a sample into a lab and it came out as carbon black.

does anyone know a good aggressive lawyer that can
1. make them stop
2. make them clean up the space with a HazMat crew
3. get damages for health risks, the time that we have not been able to live in our space ect
4. doesn't mind working with artists and musicians.

thank you so much

Is your lease legally residential or commercial?
Have you requested LL to correct the problem?
Have you called 311?

One of the tenant-attys who advertise here specializes in artists, call her: http://tenant.net/.WWW/adverts/ads.pl?banner=larmentrout;zone=hometop

Hi Anna!
Yes, she does represent artist, but only rich ones. She charges $400/hour to write a letter which is more than anyone has right now :(

Lawyers for the Arts are not interested because they like sexy-er cases. Is there anywhere we can get an inexpensive letter?

Try the other tenant-attys who advertise here, most charge less than that!.
If one tenant has really low income, call Legal Aid or Legal Services, http://lawhelp.org/
