Posting Coop Information online

Postby coopnoob » Sat Nov 05, 2005 3:29 pm

Hi,

I live in a coop (as a "shareholder") and I am thinking about creating a blog/informational website (not affiliated with the management or board) about the coop so other residents can share information, discuss issues or problems not being addressed by the super, management and/or board, etc.

What are the legal implications of dicussing problems or issues relating to the coop publicly?

I would also like to make available online the coop's offering plan, house rules and all documents/letters from the manangement to shareholders which may be useful for potential buyers when performing due diligence. Is this advisable?

Is there a guideline on what information about the coop can or cannot be disclosed by the shareholder to a third party? Is there a duty on the shareholders to keep maintain certain information confidential?

Thanks in advance for your help!
